If you have been part of the BBM Beta program you may by now have received the notice of an upcoming beta release. Little is noted around all the features but one in particular they are making a point about is the subscription of “Timed and Retracted Messages”.
This may already be showing up for you in the BBM Shop if currently on a beta release, but will only be activated once the update is pushed out.
In preparation for the BBM beta release, you may notice a “Timed and Retracted Messages” subscription item available in the BBM Shop later today. This new subscription item will not take effect until the beta release. Subscribing will allow you to get unlimited access to Timed Messages and Message Retraction. Non-subscribers will be able to Retract a maximum of 3 Messages and send a maximum of 3 Timed Messages.
How do you feel about having these options that have been available to date, now being a subscription based function when this goes into full production release? Unfortunately no known costing has been seen yet.

Giving these features and then later on restricting them doesn’t seem like the best way to win people over. What other features do they intend to pay-wall after the fact? Better to be clear up front about what the BBM subscription will contain.
